Washington, [D.C.]: THE COMPILER, (Columbus Alexander, Printer), 1850. First edition (apparently the only Washington directory published by Waite). 19 cm. xi (1, errata), 242 pp. [The last 56 pages contain advertisements for local businesses.] Folding detailed plan of the central city, with a small inset map of the entire District of Columbia; two plans, seating arrangements for the Senate and House of Representatives. Text and title within ornamental borders. Spear, p. 373. Bryan Bibliography of D.C., p. 59 (not mentioning the map). Apparently not in Sabin. Some light foxing, but very good.
