About This Item
First UK Edition; A Very Good to Near Fine book. An outstanding copy of this collection of ghost stories from Le Fanu, credited with being one of the more influential horror writers of the 19th century; Le Fanu being central to the development of the ghost story during the Victorian Era; this collection published posthumously by Downey & Co. in 1894 (Le Fanu passed in 1873). This copy is in very good condition showing a mild cock to the binding, light rubbing and bumping to the board edges, a mild discoloration to the spine and front board, and a small area of chipping to the top of the front free paper, also with a small tear to the front free paper with a piece of tape repair. Overall, a highly presentable and collectible copy of an important and scarce book. Will ship in a sturdy box.
