About This Item

New Rochelle: The Elizabeth Press, 1977. First Edition. Fine. Signed by Larry Eigner in pencil and inscribed to John Martin, publisher of Black Sparrow Press, and his wife Barbara, who designed the press's books. Eigner had a severe palsy that made writing by hand difficult; typing wasn't much easier, he used only his right index finger and thumb to do so. A nice association. First edition, one of unnumbered 400 copies in the trade issue in wraps printed on rag paper. 38, [2] pp. Wraps. Fine.

Eigner is associated with the Black Mountain and Language schools of poetry. A number of his books were published by Black Sparrow.
