About This Item

n.p.: John Kidis, 1950. First edition. (47) pp., 6 x 9 inches. Saddle-stapled into printed card covers. One of 1000 numbered copies (this being number 3). With four black-and-white reproductions of paintings by Miller, and a photographic frontispiece (a portrait of Emil Schnellock). Full title: The Waters Reglitterized: The Subject of Water Color in Some of Its More Liquid Phases. From Hentry to Emil in moments of inspiration or perplexity, with gratitude for having put me on the right path. Begun in bed this 22nd of February, 1939 — anniversary of George Washington's birth. (The Battle of the Wilderness). Pages evenly toned, with light edge wear to covers and a tiny chip to the crown of the spine, still a very good, tight, attractive copy.

A long letter about painting given by Miller to his friend Emil, published a decade later with an extended preface and short postscript.
