Adam & Charles Black, 1886. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1886. Centenary Edition. 463 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth with gilt titles to spine. Volume XI in the series. With illustrated frontispiece. Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Foxing intense towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper. Slight gutter cracking. Text block edges are uneven. Boards have some edge wear, with slight bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are moderately crushed and rubbed. Slightly scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Slight water staining to front and rear. Book has a heavy forward lean. Gilt is bright.
