London, Methuen, 1929.. FIRST EDITION, SECOND ISSUE (no gilt) 1929, 8vo, 190 x 126 mm, 7¼ x 5 inches, deep pink cloth, lettered WHITE on spine, all edges trimmed, pages: viii, (2), 208, no adverts. Essays and introductions to various books: a note on E.H. Shepard; another on children's books; discussion around King's Breakfast 'Cow'; reviews, e.g. The Collected Stories of Conan Doyle. In the last chapter he gives some intimate details about Christopher Robin. Small neat inscription on front endpaper, top edges slightly dusty. Near Fine in VG+ DUSTWRAPPER (dw: price clipped, slightly tanned on spine, lettering bright, slight rubbing to head and tail of spine, tiny split at top and bottom of upper fold). This second issue is a little shorter than the first issue and has WHITE lettering (not gilt) to the spine and no lettering to upper cover, plus all edges are trimmed.
