In Concord, Massachusetts, the Wayside, an early 18th century home (by 1717), became a gathering place for three families of writers: The Alcotts, the Hawthornes, and the Lothrops. Chronology of the three families of authors; Chronology of property; Suggested reading list; Index. Author Margaret Mulford Lathrop spent her last years maintaining the Wayside, then urning it over to the Minute Man National Historic Park to administer in 1965. In 1970, Lathrop died.
