About This Item

Cowbridge; South Wales; UK: Glyndwr Publishing. Very Good with No dust jacket as issued. 2007. First Edition. Paperback. 1903529190 . In the original publisher's glossy pictorial card covers. No dustjacket as issued. A little light, fairly negligible, shelf-wear to the covers with a few (crease) lines and light 'curve' to the spine showing it has been read - but lightly. One light mark to the very bottom edge of the page fore-edges only. Internally No Inscriptions or Marks. (x) + 438 pp. Illustrated in b/w. Glossary; Bibliography. Overall a Very Clean, Tight and Bright 'Near Fine' copy. "Many people are familiar with the 'strategic' facts of the war at sea; the convoy battles, the merchant tonnage sunk and the U-boats lost. Phil Carradice and Terry Breverton, however, have brought together a very diverse range of personal accounts and achive-based evidence to illustrate the human side - and specifically Welsh - of the story. 360 seamen from Barry were killed in the course of WW2. The age of some of the dead - 15 and 16 year olds - is a shock and the book helps to highlight the sacrifice they made - (R. J. Roberts). ". See Images. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
