This is a dark red cloth hardcover with gold lettering, bands, and triangular design on spine, 485pp + map of Wessex and list of Wessex novels at back; outer page edges are rough cut; frontispiece protected by tissue. This is volume 4 in the series "Novels of Character and Environment". Copyright 1912, 3rd (1928) printing. Cover has slightest (barely visible) wear, gold is clear in bright. Pages uncut. Very nice condition.
