Cooke's military career ranges over 46 years, through his service under Bennet Riley in the 1829 Santa Fe caravan escort through and inclusive of the Utah Expedition during the latter 1850s. Cooke's 40 years or more on the frontier show clearly what the military problems of the middle half of the 19th Century really were. Very light bump to upper fore-corner of rear panel, else a near fine, bright copy.
