About This Item
Random House, 1956. Hardcover. Very Good. 8x5x1. Frederick T. Chapman. Stated First Printing! Vintage Hardback Cloth cover book is in Good condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text is nice and appears to have had little us. It appears that there may have been a nameplate inside the front cover which has been mostly removed. No other markings or writing inside or outside of the book. Cloth covers show some minor soiling and wear to include the outside corners and edges. No Dust Jacket. This is NOT an ex-library book, but has come from a private collection. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. Landmark Book #70. The West Point story is linked closely to the story of our country. In the hard days of the American Revolution, General Benedict Arnold tried to sell West Point, and, because of his treachery, an honest soldier was hanged. Had Arnold succeeded, our Military Academy would never have been born.
