Among the highlights noted were: the Donaueschingen Pontifical, Reichenau Abbey, second quarter of the ninth century; manuscripts in Latin, Greek, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Middle English, Hebrew, Church Slavonic, Armenian, Arabic and Ge'ez; texts by Lucus Anneus Florus, Plutarch, Servius, Gregory the Great, Adalerus, Berno of Reichenau, Sacrobosco, Bonaventura, Bartholomeus Anglicus, Gregory IX, Bartolomeo da San Concordia, Matthew of Cracow, Antoninus of Florence, Leonardo Bruni and Amerigo Vespucci; manuscripts of the statutes of England and of canon law, chronicles, science, astronomy, mathematics, botany, sermons, virtues and vices, and the story of the Holy Grail; Bibles, including a third-century fragment of St. John's Gospel, and an important early thirteenth-century English Bible from the library of William Morris; Books of Hours, including examples of the Uses of Sarum, Rome, Paris, Lyons, Therouanne and Tournai, and three miniature Italian Books of Hours; a total of over 300 fragments and single leaves, including fragments of an Anglo-Saxon service book, of a twelfth-century giant Bible from Siena, and of the Psalter of Joan of Navarre; and miniatures by or in the style of Nero da Rimini, Cristoforo Cortese, the Master of the Queen Mary Psalter, Johannes, the Master of Adelaide of Savoy, the Master of the Prayerbooks of c. 1500, and the Spanish Forger; and documents including illuminated charters of Ferdinand IV (1304) and Richard III (1485) and an archive concerning Savanarola.
