Above this number line is stated "First Kensington Hardcover printing: November, 1997". This work is of interest to WWII history buffs and for aviation fans as it offers a view of how a fledgling industry developed into a crucial military operation. The industry came out of WWII not only victorious, but ready to change the shape and pace of air travel forever. 310 pages, a prologue, ten chapters, an epilogue and a bibliography. Dust jacket has been taken out of shrinkwrap and protected in an archival quality cover. A very nice new, author signed, first edition, first printing copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box. An excellent gift copy!
