About This Item
Signet Book New American Library, 1976. Mass Market Paperback. Near Fine. First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. He was the greatest public hero in America - and quite possibly its most private person. He made the impossible look easy on the ball field - and found casual small talk an ordeal. He was the straightest and most moral of men - and the adoring husband and perhaps the only true love of the tragic Marilyn Monroe. He was a human being who became a legend, and who not only lived up to it, but resisted corrupting adulation. Now in the words of those who knew all the different parts of him, Joe DiMaggio, his fascinating era , his unforgettable exploits, his personal agonies, his meaning then and now, are brought together in a portrait to read and to treasure. 180 pages with 8 pages of nostalgic photos. A great collector' s gift. Spine has a crease. The cover is blackish brown so the rubbing on the spine edges & along the spine on the front cover show up more. The bottom of the front cover is bumped in 2 spots & a litt le rubbing there. A light 1" crease on front cover next to outside edge. Also about a 2" long very light yellowing to the white back cover along the edge. The book is solid & would be hard to find in this sturdy of condition after 26 years. The think the buyer will be very pleased..
