New York: A.L.Burt Company, 1912. Book. Illus. by F.Vaux Wilson. VG+. Cloth. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Dark blue embossed cloth with cream tiles to the front and spine. This copy is VG+ in a VG, unclipped (no price) DJ. Exterior is clean and rich with minimal edge wear.. Inside is unmarked, clear, and firmly bound. 352 pages with 8 pages of advertising at the back. Modest toning on EPs where DJ did not cover. Modest toning to outside page edges. Minimal /even toning to text with scattered foxing. DJ art is the same as the Bobbs Merrill first edition, by Coles Phillips. DJ has been tape repaired from inside. Now with modest chipping to spine ends and minimal to other edges. DJ is modestly faded/soiled but still clear and nice. This is the ONLY Burt edition in a DJ available on Abe as of September 2020, SCARCE thus. No publication information other than the 1912 copyright attributed to Bobbs Merrill, but obviously an early reprint. Prices on the back of the DJ, advertised for other Burt offerings are contemporary with 1912 prices..

I tried to finish this book, but it was so awful that I couldn't. I gave it to the Salvation Army. Usually, Mary's books are very interesting, but this time, she strayed from the mysteries she is known for and tried to be funny.
