Good, lacking the dust jacket and the decorative front end paper, boards soiled and worn at edges, rear hinge cracked. Uncommon as an unsophisticated copy of this enduring Sendak classic, SIGNED AND INSCRIBED directly in the book to a child who obviously adored the book and read it countless times, much like a well-worn blanket or stuffed animal. Basis for the 2009 film directed by Spike Jonze, a 1984 TV movie, and several short films. . SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR. First Edition. Pictorial Paper Covered Boards. Good/No Jacket. Oblong 4to.
Synopsis
Where the Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's picture book by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak, originally published by Harper & Row. The book has been adapted into other media several times, including an animated short, a 1980 opera, and, in 2009, a live-action feature film adaptation. According to HarperCollins, the book has sold over 19 million copies worldwide as of 2008.
