About This Item
New York: Doubleday, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Leonard Weisgard. A bit of wear at book corners, as well as some discoloration, rubbing and fraying to cloth spine, and a black smudge to rear cover; a few small thumb marks internally, but generally bright and clean, overall. Paper lifts and sticker marks opposite title page. The jacket has been somewhat less fortunate, split completely at the spine, with a few large chips missing along the top edge at the WHI and the O in For. Front and rear panels largely intact though and still attractive. Scarce in jacket. Published posthumously but completed before her death in 1952. Brown collaborated with Weisgard pseudonymously a number of times, including on 1946's Caldecott winner The Little Island. Size: Octavo (8vo). Text is clean and unmarked. Illustrator: Leonard Weisgard. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 2 lbs 0 oz. Category: Children; Inventory No: 036868.
