New York: Oxford University Press, 1953. One of the great classics of American sociology, first published in 1951.This is a Near Fine copy of a printing from two years later. Dark blue cloth binding with titling in white on the spine. The front cover has a man in hat and overcoat (middle class attire?) in white. Clean text; xx, 378 pages; indexed. Neat previous-owner signature on the FFEP. Tiny bit of rub to the corners, else Fine. The dustjacket is a photograph of the man in the overcoat stylized on the book. It shows some wear, with wrinkling along the edges and rubbing to the head of the spine. In a plastic protector.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
