About this Item: Robert M. McBride and Company, New York, 1928. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Robert E. Locher (illustrator). Limited Edition. This LIMITED EDITION one of 3290 copies is in as very fine condition. This copy has never been read and probably never opened.The cover is a modern adaptation of the Medieval leather and oaken bord binding. Book os quarter bound in fine brown leather which is slightly sun faded. The gilt lettering is fine.The bottom of the rear board shows slight wear at the bottom edge. The top edge is trimmed and the fore and bottom edges are un-trimmed. The Paper is Italian hand made, and made of pure linen and hempen rags, beaten in pieces by dint of wood, and made stiff with glue got from boiled hides. The volume was designed by William Dana Orcutt (1870-1953), an important book and type face designer. The Typography, press work, and binding are by Plimpton Press, Norwood, Massachusetts, under his personal supervision. Publishers slipcase is in fair condition with some splitting and a 1" loss at top edge. This is a very fine collectible beautiful produced.
