About This Item
Berkeley, CA: Ten Speed Press (The Jargon Society), 1986. Boards. Very Good +/Near Fine. A handsome copy of the scarce hardcover edition, in a very sharp dustjacket. Tight and VG+ (ink inscription at the front free endpaper) in a crisp, price-clipped, Near Fine dustjacket, with very light chipping to the spine ends. Although the copyright page suggests this is the 12th printing, it's difficult to say how many (or rather how few) hardcover copies were issued. Suffice to say the spiralbound edition -- in itself something of a collectible-- is infinitely more common than the hardback edition, which this bookseller for one has never seen before.
Synopsis
Ernest Matthew Mickler received a master’s degree in fine arts from Mills College before embarking on his true mission as a culinary cultural preservationist. Ernie died in 1988, but his classic cookbook, and all the stories enshrined within its pages, live on.
