Tan coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with orange and black coloured titles to the front panel and orange and browned coloured titles to the back strip. Listed alphabetically the title does say at all, but, the complete title page is: –"Who's Who and What's What in Shakespeare: Giving References by Topics to Notable Passages and Significant Expressions; Brief Histories of the Place; Geographical Names and Historical Incidents; Mention of All Characters And Sketches of Important Ones. Together with Explanations of Allusions and Abstract and Obsolete Words and Phrases" First published in 1887. Softening to the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book corners. Browning and foxing of the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Offset tanning of the end pages with previous owner's name to the top edge of the three front endpaper. The major damage has been cracking of the rear spine, underlying web visible. Small tears and creasing to the top dustwrapper edge with fading of the back strip. Foxing to the verso.
