Condition: Very good, with very light shelfwear to covers. Signed by Godfrey Rubens on the half-title to the previous owner and his wife. Dustjacket condition: Good, with general light shelfwear. 320pp. Many b/w illustrations. Loosely inserted is also a 16pp. booklet published by Godfrey Rubens in 2007 about the lecture given by William Lethaby at the South Kensington Museum on 4th March 1926 entitled "William Morris as Artist". This book was the first definitive biography of one of the late 19th century's most gifted and original thinkers, and examines Lethaby's life and career as the founding father of the 20th century art educational system and his prolific work as architect, teacher and historian..
