Blue cloth boards with green overlay on spine with bright gilt lettering on spine and bank front in gilt on front. Maps as endpapers 446 pp 8vo. Sherman had a gift for writing and as a senior resident partner of a banking house in San Francisco, he wrote frequent reports and letters to the home office in St. Louis. Most of these letters were preserved and printed here for the first time giving a good look at Gold Rush Banking. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
