About This Item
Beverly, Massachusetts: Commonwealth Editions, 2006. First Paperback Edition . Soft cover. Near Fine. This is a well above average quality paperback with front and rear dust flaps and deckled outer edges. 304 pages, including an index, book is clean and binding is tight. The author has carefully gathered first-hand accounts of survivors from South Jersey, Boston, Rhode Island, and especially Long Island and Cape Cod where the winds hit hardest (top winds were clocked at 186 mph). Allen's vivid description of the mellow September day that turned yellow and then sea-green with 40 foot waves without the kind of warning we get in the current era is gut-wrenching to say the least. A quite nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a box to help insure it arrives at the buyers doorstep safely.
