About This Item

A very nice copy of a first edition of this 1983 new edition, illustrated by John Burningham in black and white with 12 colour plates.
The pale green/beige boards have silver text to the spine, and pale blue to the inner boards.
The corners and the top and bottom of the spine have no bumps - just a small indentation to the side of the spine near its base.
Burningham's delightful colour illustrations are all in excellent condition.
There is some smudging and browning to the edges of the page-block, otherwise the book would be classed as Fine.
There are no markings or inscriptions.
The unclipped glossy dust-wrapper shows the price at £7.95 and has hardly any edge-wear and no tears, just a couple of small creases and minimal browning to the internal edges of the flaps.
All in all, a lovely book in better than Very Good condition.

Synopsis

The Wind in the Willows is a classic children's book by Kenneth Grahame, published in 1908. The story follows the adventures of four animal friends - Mole, Rat, Badger, and Toad - as they explore the English countryside, battle against weasels and stoats, and learn about the value of friendship, loyalty, and the joys of a simple life. Through their adventures, the characters discover the importance of home and the pleasures of a peaceful existence. With its charming characters, vivid descriptions of nature, and timeless themes, The Wind in the Willows remains a beloved classic today.
