About This Item

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame (Methuen & Co. Ltd, reprint 1966), illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard.

This classic children's book was originally published in 1908 and first illustrated with b/w line drawings by E. H. Shepard (1879-1976) for the 1931 edition. Shepard later re-visited the work and produced further illustrations in colour for the 1959 edition, this copy being the 1966 third reprint of that edition.

Hardback in price-clipped dustwrapper. Top edge of page-block tinted light green. 285pp including b/w illustrations plus eight colour plates. Size: 8.25 x 5.5 inches approx. (208mm x 141mm).

Dustwrapper age-toned and spotted; a little dulled/sunned to spine. Covers showing some uneven sunning, especially to spine, otherwise clean. Light spotting to edges of page-block.

Overall, showing light shelf wear but otherwise a clean, fresh copy – quite lovely.
