Fine in a beautiful near fine dust jacket with a one tiny chip to bottom edge of rear cover and a few tiny closed tears. Bony is disguised as a wandering cow hand at a cattle ranch. When he arrives on the scene the scent is cold, yet two stranglings took place the year before. To make matters worse, a bungling police officer has compromised the clues and several sand storms have obliterated the tracks of the killer. An uncommon and attractive copy, especially in this condition. Crime Club mystery and the fourth Upfield mystery to appear in the U. S. Originally published in Australia in 1937 by Angus & Robertson and in England in 1939 bt Hutchinson.
