About This Item
Toronto, ON: James Lewis & Samuel, 1973. Paperback. Very Good. Clean, tight, unmarked; age tanning; light crease to upper front edge of cover; otherwise very minimal wear; appears unread; This book presents an account of the 1919 Winnipeg General Strike, written by the workers who organized the strike. Their day-to-day description of events was prepared for pro-labour sympathizers across Canada and to counteract the ant-strike accounts carried in the mass media. Included in this book are 40 photographs taken at the time, including a remarkable sequence of pictures taken on Bloody Saturday when RNWMP bullets killed one man in front of Winnipeg's city hall.
