Boston : Houghton Mifflin Co., 1967. First edition/first printing. Size for each volume is octavo (8vo), 9.25"/23.3 cm h. Handsomely quarterbound in publisher's burnt orange cloth boards and light green spine, with an ornamental blue stripe separating the two; spine text in gilt and black set within an ornamental frame matching the board color. Glossy color (dark red) dj, pictorial, but only with the monotone gilt revised (1953) Coat of Arms of Churchill (with motto 'Fiel Pero Desdichado' - Span.: 'Faithful but Unfortunate'). Plain white endpapers. Vol 1/1 pagination - Xxiv pp prelim material, 678 numbered pp, plus two blank; Vol 1/2 pagination - Viii pp prelim material, p nos 679-1290 numbered pp, plus four blank. Part 1 contains Randolph Churchill's preface, list of personalities, 20 chaps from Birth to pre-India (notes passim); Part 2 contains India to 1900, plus index for both parts; notes passim. Condition notes: volumes in very good condition sheathed in merely 'good' dustjackets; the latter are unclipped by have been subject to rubbing/wear, and have several small tears and chips. Both volumes have light soiling to edges; the handsome quarterbinding remains unsunned, tight, sharp, square. Former owners' prominent bookplate to the ffep of each volume; else clean, bright, unmarked. A remarkable resource about a remarkable man. This two part set is large and heavy and may require additional postage. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
