About This Item

A very presentable first printing of the first edition [Knopf New York 1984], signed by John Updike directly on the title page. The book is in near fine condition with a remainder mark on the top stain and light spotting confined to the rear free end paper. It has a tight and square binding, with no owner inscriptions or highlighting. The dust jacket is also in near fine condition, not price-clipped ($15.95 ), with light rubbing and chipping at the extremities but no tears and some shelf wear. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable, with no tape or adhesive used. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your requests for further information.
