About This Item

New York: Beaufort Books, 1983. Near fine (a few tiny spots on top page edges) in near fine dust jacket (very slight yellowing along top edges). Marguerite Higgins reported from the front lines in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, interviewed dozens of important world figures (U.S. Presidents, etc), broke down barriers to women journalists, and was the first woman to earn a Pulitzer Prize for her overseas reporting. 274 pages including index and bibliography (including citaions to key items from Higgins' own work). As a young woman, Higgins was an admirer of Hemingway, somewhat starstruck, but I think--looking at the cover picture of this biography--she might very well have been another striking woman too strong for Hemingway's preferences. . 1st Edition. Hard Cover.
