About This Item
London: W. Foulsham & Co.. Hardcover. Very Good/Good +. The interior of the book is clean and tight. There is a rather ugly gift card to a former owner (Junior Temperance Study Course, 1953) taped on the front free end paper, followed by the owner's signature, but no other marks or wear. The blue covers are fresh, with minimal wear. The dust jacket is overall in good condition, with edgewear and nicking. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. Synopsis: "Jim Walsham wanted adventure and he got his chance ... Pressed into the Navy, he went to America where war was about to break out between England and France. Jim joined the Army. He served under Braddock, and then raised a corps of Royal scouts. He fought the French and the Indians, and at last was chosen by General Wolfe for a daring mission on the eve of the battle for Quebec".
