About This Item
Linden Press / Simon and Schuster, 1982. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. NEAR FINE/FINE. SIGNED and inscribed on the FFEP by Babitz to her fellow Angelenos, the fine-press publishing duo Ralph Sylvester and Stathis Orphanos: 'Dear Stathis & Ralph / Without you, I would be nothing / Love / Eve Babitz / [heart] ' 159pp. 12mo, Peach paper over boards backed in white cloth, stamped in copper gilt. NEAR FINE in FINE jacket, Fore tail corner a bit bumped, else exceedingly clean and sharp with crisp, fresh pages but with the remainder mark which most surviving copies of her final and initially poorly-selling novel bear, a coda marking Babitz's drift into a decade of obscurity and seclusion. 'Eve Babitz *is* L.A.' said an early jacket blurb, and this is a lovely intra-Hollywood association copy of her eponymous novel.
