New York, NY: Rudd & Carleton, 1858. Hardcover. Good. First American ("Author's") edition of the much published work by novelist, essayist and poet, Mulock (1826-1887). 309 pages plus advertisements. "In 'A Woman's Thoughts About Women,' she protests against marriage as the sole female career and demands better education and more professional opportunities for women. She also insists that female independence must include personal financial responsibility". Pebbled gray cloth, with wear at head and heel and lightly bumped corners. A very nice copy.
