London: Roger Schlesinger, 1970. Very Good. FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY ARTIST. 4to, with numerous crayon portraits by Roboz. Original red cloth, spine lettered in black, facsimile signatures of the women represented to upper board. Patterned red endpapers. Bruising to extremities, dints to edges. Inscribed by Roboz in black pen to title page: "Best wishes, Zsuzsu Roboz". Else, clean and tight. In the original illustrated dust jacket: spine ends frayed, creasing, chips and tears. Very Good / Good-only Includes portraits, in words and drawings, of "some of the outstanding women of our day", including Barbara Castle, Christina Foyle, Judi Dench, Barbara Hepworth and Marilyn Neufville. Zsuzsi Roboz (19292012) was a London-based Hungarian painter known for her portraiture paintings, especially of creative people. Her work is held in Tate Britain and The National Portrait Gallery.
