Fairport, NY: H.A. & J. De Land & Co. , 1880. Tan illustrated wraps, Near fine. 10 pages, 23.5 cm x 19 cm. Wonder-eyes and Whatfor Part II by Eleanor W. Talbot is a children’s book produced by H.A. & L.J. DeLand & Co. the manufacturers of DeLand’s Chemical Baking Powder. The first page has a child’s name written in cursive with Lewis County, NY under it. Deland’s was the second producer of baking powder in the country, beginning their manufacturing in 1852. The product came to be called Cap Sheaf Soda. Some blank pages stained from opposing page's illustrations, Binding torn in some places.

Color pictorial boards with a 2" abrasion to front cover, heavy shelf wear, losss to spine ends, gift inscriptions and a few small marks inside but generally clean. Entertaining verse accompanied by color artwork on every page. The verses and images range from everyday scenes, whimsy and nearly fantastical, including a humanized kite, cat and insects. Originally published in booklet format in 3 volumes. Scarce.. Pictorial Boards. Good/No Jacket. 4to.

Very good. 7 1/2'' x 9 1/2''; unpaginated [58 pp]; illustrated paper over board cover; blue endpapers; pictorial title page; ink gift inscription dated 1883 to page following title; 30 full page chromolithographed illustrations printed one side only with rhyming text; cover corners bumped and chipped, rubbing to spine; interior bright and tight; very good. No listing in WorldCat. Juvenile rhyming text with chromolithographed illustrations contained within a border. Some rhymes are humorous, others are sweet, and several involving cats.
