An exceptionally significant presentation copy of this highly successful musical, inscribed by the authors to the show’s star, “[in the hand of Fields] To Roz [Russell]: you’re our favorite actress and person, just as long as you stay in the show. Love, Joe and [in Chodorov’s hand] Jerry. [in the hand of Fields] June 10, 1953.” Fields and Chodorov wrote the original play My Sister Eileen, which was based on the stories of Ruth McKenney, both the basis for this production.
