About This Item
New York: Morrow, 1987. Hardcover. Fine/fine. Hardcover. Fine in fine, lightly toned dust jacket. Second printing. 464 pp. Illustrated with scenes from the films. A unique look into the world of movie making. The author was allowed exclusive access to the set of Woody Allen's "Radio Days", the period comedy set in the heyday of radio. de Navacelle was there every day observing the activity, from the first four months of principal photography location around New York City, through the reshooting process, to the preparation of the rough cut, and, at last, the final print. The book includes lsits and descriptions of the cast and crew, a plot synopsis, a fifteen-week, day-by-day account of the filming, a section about reshooting scenes that needed further work and those that had not appeared in the original script, and finally a list of scenes as each appeared in the shooting script next todescriptions of the scenes as they were actually shot (and often cut from the final film).
