New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1941. Brennan (1901-1962) was known primarilly as a screenwriter and director. This play, set in England at the beginning of World War II, ran on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre n 1941-42 and had good notices. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition (stated). Gray cloth binding with titling and decorations in blue on the spine. Clean text; 249 pages. Frontis photograph of the main character with a Lewis gun. Some darkening at the top edge, else Fine. The dustjacket is complete, with very little sign of wear. The spine has darkened; the panels less so. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
