London: Chatto & Windus, 1901. This is a Very Good copy of the First English Edition, translated from the French by Ernest Alfred Vizetelly, who also provides a Preface. Orange decorative cloth binding, titled and stamped on the front cover and spine in brown, red, and gilt. Clean text; vii, 500 pages; with a four-page catalog preceding the title page and a 32-page catalog in the rear. Mild bumps, and the spine slightly faded; light spotting to the page-ends. There is a split to the rear gutter, but it is holding well. A sound copy, with the orange binding and the textblock still bright and fresh. . First UK Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
