SMALL QUARTO. - First Edition - Full leather w/ five raised bands and leather title label to spine, which has been rebacked at some point - Lacks frontispiece - Formerly gilt embossed stamp boards but most gilt has worn away - Boards heavily worn w/ large chips and marks - Corners bumped and rubbed - Gilt decorations to spine heavily faded and chipped - Joints badly worn w/ upper board now only attached by the cords - Edges of text block significantly tanned and stained w/ chips, tears and creases to page edges - Endpapers very grubby and stained w/ some gouges and marks to pastedowns - Content heavily tanned and faded w/ age staining and wear - Hinges are breached - Three separate signatures in pen and pencil to title page - Some mositure damage has affected the page margins and corners in places - Book ow/ solid - Scarce - 517/332/156/95 pages
