Half-calf over blue marbled boards, gilt top. A few are rubbed along the spine edges and corners. One book has a small tear in the eather along the spine. All of the books are in Fine ++ condition. Beautifully illustrated. Reade (1814-84) was an English novelist and dramatist. Included in this complete edition of his works is It's Never Too Late to Mend, written with the purpose of reforming abuses in prison discipline and the treatment of criminals. He is best known for The Cloister and the Hearth.
