Fourteen volumes of the fifteen volume set - History of English Literature (3), Lectures on Art (2), On Intelligence (2), Notes on Paris, Notes on England, Ancient Regime, Modern Regime (2), A Tour Through the Pyrenees, and Italy, Florence, Venice. Lacking only Italy, Rome, Naples. In publisher's original green or blue embossed cloth with gilt lettering and rules, dark brown paper end pages. Publication dates range from 1874-1896. Overall a Very Good mixed set, several volumes with differing prior owner names and bookplates, light wear to cloth at edges, bowing to boards with bottom corner old dampstain Lectures on Art, V. I, not affecting legibility, with similar stain top corner Lectures on Art, V.II. Translated from the French by H. Van Laun, John Durand, T.D. Haye, J. Safford Fiske, and John Austin Stevens. *** An oversize and heavy set that will require well more postage than shown for priority and international mail.
