Medium cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages are loose. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil marking to some pages. Previous owner's inscriptions and sticker to front pastedown and rear of frontispiece Water staining to frontispiece. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Slight staining overall.

Uniformly rebound toward the late 19th century. Three quarter tan leather bound covers with 5 raised bands and gilt stamped decor over marbled boards have wear to the extremities. Boards and spines are straight. Bindings are tight. Gilt top edges very good. Marbled paste downs and end sheets still bright and glossy. Pages clean with only very faint toning and in very good condition. .
