Philadelphia: Joseph Crukshank, 1775. Second Edition. . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavo. 432 pages. Hardcover bound in original full brown leather with a red leather label on the spine. Ribbed spine. Front hinge is cracked and holding by one cord at the bottom band. The binding is worn and bumped. The text block is sound. Early owner's signature on the front flyleaf is of Sam'l Titus or Tiles or Jiles. Another similar signature in pencil on the rear flyleaf is dated 1846. The ink signature on the front flyleaf looks much closer to the original publication of the book. The text is toned and shows foxing and has some possible damp spots. Two main parts in one volume with a separate title page for his Journal at the front and a separate title page for the Second Part after page 250 (the pagination runs continuously through both parts of the book). The title for the second part states, "The Second Part. Containing his Last Epistle and his Other Writings." The first work in this second part is, "Some Considerations on the Keeping of Negroes recommended to the Professors of Christianity of Every Denomination. First Printed in the Year 1754." Colonial American imprint. A rare work.

A small book measuring 5 3/4 inches tall by almost 3 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original leather-covered wooden boards. The binding is quite worn and stained. Chipping at the spine ends. The leather is chipped and is darkened on the rear cover (from having been damped) and is peeling up where it is chipped, revealing the wooden board beneath. The front pastedown is torn away, revealing the front wooden board. Lacks the clasp. Several signatures a bit sprung. There is a chip at the fore edge of the title page, affecting some of the lettering. The text is toned and stained. Bottom edge torn away from the bottom of the final leaf, but there does not appear to be text missing. Worldcat also notes 252 pages. Printed in "Old German" type. A scarce 18th century American Psalter written in German.

Paris: Imprimerie d'e DuVerger, 1852. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Quarto. 329; 37 pages. Hardback bound in original quarter brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. Red leather label on the spine as well as a gilt-stamped emblem of a "V" with scroll work and a banner beneath a crown. The binding shows moderate rubbing and wear and is sound. Hinges quite sturdy and supple. Marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of "Lewis St. Louis." Text is clean. After the main part of the text (first 200 pages) there are over 100 pages of printed facsimile of handwritten pages (original to the publication which appear to show a register of items, values, etc. Pages 277-319 have been printed as 3/4 pages so that the text at the top of page 321 serves as headers for the columns throughout the section.

With large folding map of Ireland. Hardcover bound in contemporary or early 3/4 leather with marbled paper-covered boards. The binding shows heavy wear. The front board is detached; the rear board is holding by the cords. The leather on the front and rear boards is chipped away at the hinges and the binding generally appears worn and heavily rubbed. The leather on the spine is a bit darkened, suggesting it having been damped, and also has a couple of chips missing. Dual black leather labels on the spine. Likely an ex-library copy; a bookplate has been removed from the front pastedown. Hardcover bound in white quarter cloth with grey cloth covered boards. The binding is quite worn and stained but sound. Old glass rings and stains on the front cover, especially at the fore edge. The white cloth spine is foxed and the spine is toned and the spine gilt a bit dulled. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Signed on the back side of the frontis by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.

Bound in mid-20th century cloth-backed pressboard with a paper label on the front cover. The original pamphlet is held in with flexible cloth tape with the tape extending about 3/4 an inch over the spine of the pamphlet. Brown printed wrappers bound in. A sound copy. The text it toned, and there is some foxing on the wrappers. Printed on the rear wrapper is, "For further information, and terms of sale, apply to the Governor of North Carolina, Raleigh, N.C." This is not an illustrated work. Printed just two years after the Civil War. Scarce. NOT FOUND IN THORNTON.

The binding is rubbed, and the boards show some normal scuffs. Raised bands on the spine. Prior owner's signature "T. Smith / 1788" on the front flyleaf in a fine hand. There is some foxing to the text. Some offsetting to the paper on the pages opposite the engravings. This volume is has 14 of 15 plates, LACKING the plate of Hatfield House opposite Pg. 137. This plate also lacks the leaf for pages 138-139, so two pages of text are missing. This volume runs from January to June, 1786 and contains the supplement and the Index at the rear.
