Text block solid, except frontispiece portrait is loose. 456 (29) pages. Rear most leaves have a damp stain at the bottom margin. Contents: I. An Exposition upon the Book of the Revelation, II. A discourse of the knowledge of God the Father and his son Jesus Christ, III. Of the creatures and the condition of their state by creation, IV Of election. <br> Thomas Goodwin was an English Puritan theologian and preacher. He served as chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. This is vol. 2 of Goodwin's works, published, 1681-1704. <br> Ref: English Short Title Catalog, ESTCT97628. <br> [Colonial New York Ownership] Contemporary signatures of John Haswell and Joseph Haswell. John Haswell (1728-1808) was an immigrant from Appleby, county Westmoreland, England who settled in Albany and Bethlehem, New York. His son Joseph Haswell (1755-1812) served in the American Revolution has also signed this book. John Haswell writes that he purchased this book in 1760 on the title page.
