The Travelers Insurance Co, Hartford, Conn, 1889. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No dust jacket. The books are in good condition with moderate wear to the boards, rubbing, and edge and corner bumps. The upper and lower edges of the spines bumped, but clean. Gild lettering is still bright and nice. The pages are clean and tight in the binding. Vol 5 shows front gutter separation.Walter Bagehot was an English journalist, businessman, and essayist, who wrote extensively about government, economics, literature, and race.
