Odham, London, No date. Edition Unstated. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. appendices, maps and illustrations and index. The text is illustrated with maps and the occasional black-and-white illustration or reproduction of documents. Red coloured cloth covered boards with black insert to the top right-hand corner of the front panel and backstrip, and within those inserts gilt coloured titles. Facsimile gilt coloured signature of author to the lower edge of the front panel. Plain text dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the backstrip. "In this, the final volume of his epic history of World War I, the author deals with big years 1917-18, during which period he returned to the Government As Minister of Munitions. In this book the reader's attention is gripped and held with dramatic power, as page after page brilliantly reflects the bitter struggles of both sides for supremacy in a series of stubbornly contested conflicts  Arras, Chemin de Dames, Passchendaele,....." -- from the front fold over panel blurb. There is no publication date easily accessed, but, probably 1940s. Softening and fading to the backstrip, commensurate with loss of dustwrapper. Rubbing to the book corners and lower book edges. Browning and foxing to the textblock edges and lighter browning of the pages. Offset tanning, browning and some foxing to the endpapers. Previous owners name sticker to the top right-hand corner of the free front end paper. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Some marks and rubs to the dustwrapper panels and fading to the backstrip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [4], V - VII, [1], 1155-1472, [2] pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
