Signed by the author on the title page as Miss Read and Dora Saint. Rare to find signed. An equally beautiful mint jacket, unclipped and with a protective mylar cover. An exceptional collectable book. Miss Read (or Dora Jessie Saint) was an English novelist and a schoolmistress by profession. Best known for her Fairacre and Thursh Green novels set in the British countryside. In 1998 she was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to literature. Our collection of Miss Read books come from a single collector, all of them signed, which is extremely rare and generally in exceptional condition.
