Designed to appeal to those who are interested in timber, but are not specialists in wood technology, indicating the outstanding characteristics of the timbers and, where appropriate, each timber is compared with allied or technically similar timbers that may be considered for the same purpose. Intended primarily for use by timber-using industries as well as architects and their clients, explaining the technical and aesthetic properties together with economic factors.
